How to get to Hotel SALOBREÑA:

(and return)  

There are alternative routes for getting to the hotel, which is located between the towns of Salobreña and Almuñécar (road Malaga-Almería km. 323; tfn. +34 958610261).

Please notice there are several buses that stop in front of the Hotel, but you will have to tell the driver to stop in front of the Hotel Salobreña.

 

Coming from:

A- Malaga airport

B- Granada airport

C- Madrid airport

 

A.    Route one - via Malaga

(Malaga airport à Malaga bus station à Hotel Salobreña)

 

The easiest way is to fly in to Malaga airport and then catch a bus from there to Malaga central bus station, from where there is a direct bus to the conference site. For this routing you will have to take the following buses:

 

1. The airport Citybus (Bus municipal) EMT No.19 leaves from outside the exit of the arrival hall (level 0) and will take you to Malaga Central Bus Station (Estacion de Autobuses; Eguiluz). Buses run from 7am until 12pm and leave the airport every 30 minutes. The trip should take about 25-30 minutes and the fare is 1 Euro. You pay the driver directly and must have the exact change or small denominations. Ask the driver to drop you at the "estacion de autobuses". This is NOT the last stop!

 

2. On arriving at Malaga Central Bus Station, buy a bus ticket at the office of ALSINA (Tel. 952 31 82 95). The ticket counter is in the entrance hall situated on the left if you come from the bus stands and on the right hand if you enter the hall from the city). Ask for a ticket to SALOBRENA HOTEL, which is served by the bus to Motril. The fare will be around 5,5 Euros. Buses leave at 3:00, 7:00, 11:00, 12:45, 15:30, 17:30, 18:00, 19:30 from stand number 30. The bus journey should take about 60-90 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at SALOBRENA HOTEL. This stop is the one BEFORE Salobrena town!

 

RETURN:

On Thursday 28th you can take a bus from Hotel Salobreña to Malaga bus station (at 1:15, 6:50, 11:00, 13:30, 14:50, 16:00, 19:15), and a bus to the airport that leaves every 30 minutes from the bus station. A taxi from the Hotel to the Airport would cost around 60 Euro, and the trip would take 45-90 minutes.

 

B.    Route two - via Granada

(Granada Airport à Granada bus station à Hotel Salobreña)

 

Catch a bus to Granada town (<5€), and go to the Bus Station, or catch a taxi from Granada Airport to the Bus Station (17€).

 

Bus times from Granada Airport to Granada town:

09.05, 12.05, 17.35, 18.45, 19.05 (daily), 10.30 (Thursday), 11.35

(Tuesday), 15.35 (Sunday), 16.05 (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)

 

The bus from Granada that stops in front to Hotel Salobreña is the bus to Almuñécar. The buses from Granada to Almuñécar leave at 7.30, 9:00, 10:00, 13:00, 16:00 and 20:00. The trip will take about one hour. Hotel Salobreña is not a main stop; it’s the one following Salobreña Town. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Hotel Salobreña.

 

RETURN:

Buses from Almuñécar to Granada stop in front of the Hotel Salobreña approx at 6:40, 8:10, 10:40, 15:25, 16:40, 17:40, 20:10, 21:10.

 

 

C.    Route three - via Madrid

 (Madrid airport à Madrid bus or train station à Granada bus station à Hotel Salobreña)

 

The easiest way to get from Madrid to the Hotel is to catch bus to Granada (a 5 hour trip), and then a bus from Granada to Hotel Salobreña.

You can either take a taxi from the airport to the bus station (about 18 €), or the metro (1 €). Buses to Granada leave from Madrid main bus station, “Estación Méndez-Alvaro”, and there are about 9 buses a day. The bus from Granada that stops in front to Hotel Salobreña is the bus to Almuñécar. Ask for the ticket at the office of Alsina Graells at the Bus Station in Granada. The buses from Granada to Almuñécar leave at 7:30, 9:00, 10:00, 13:00, 16:00 and 20:00. The trip will take about 1 hour-90 min; costs 4,5 Euro. Hotel Salobreña is not a main stop; it’s the one following Salobreña Town. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Hotel Salobreña.

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:

 

- When making your travel arrangements you should allow plenty of time to get from the airport to the Bus Station in order to catch buses on time (planes frequently arrive late in Spain!).
